Samsung is particularly known for having a great impact in the high-end phone market segment for business people. With the recent launch of Omnia 7, things are about to change. The business sector is dominated by BlackBerrys, HTC and others. But can Omnia 7 outclass these well established products? We shall see. Samsung is hoping to conquer some ground into this elusive realm government by high tech business apps and physical keyboards. Samsung can only do it by offering a quality product as a viable alternative to the current best selling business handsets. This market segment has a lot of great products, so Samsung had to wait to make their move. The company had the hardware infrastructure for a business phone but they lacked the software capabilities. But with the recent launch of the Windows Phone operating system , Samsung has found a worthy ally and teaming up with Windows Phone 7 they formed the product that we see today, the Samsung Omnia 7.
This new gadgets looks much like the other latest release from Samsung, the Samsung Galaxy S, which a lot of people thought to be one of the best smartphones that is not running on Windows OS. One of the shared features between these 2 marvelous devices, is the large 4 inches touch screen display. Also, the technology featured in both displays is similar, meaning that both displays are operating a Super AMOLED screen, which is the one behind the fantastic display that both of them are boasting. The color depth is not the only amazing feature of the Super AMOLED technology, the handset is also able to display images at very high resolutions.
Samsung Omnia 7 has another useful feature that really sets this phone apart from all the other business phones. The 3.5 mm headphones jack is a marvelous capability which offers the business person the entertainment capability that other products do not. Being able to plug in any type of headphones is very important. You are no longer bound to the standard quality headphones. The larger headphones jack allows you to plug in headphones of higher quality for a much better sound experience.
Both versions of memory, the 8 GB and the 16 GB, offer plenty of storage space to satisfy any need as a smartphone user. A minor downside of the Samsung Omnia 7 is the lack of external memory card support. Seems like the company decided to do so for the purpose of keeping the phone’s cost as low as possible.
This gadget is packed with features but one area is no different compared to the other Windows phones – the camera. The Omnia 7 is equipped with a mediocre 5 mega pixel camera which is able to offer High Definition video recording capability and all these features comprised are enough for most business people. In terms of processing power, both Samsung Galaxy S and Samsung Omnia 7 feature the same processor. As far as the price goes, in the UK you will have to pay 480 pounds (SIM Free) to get your hands on this gadget.
