No matter what you have purchased, an iPhone or an iPod, you have to realize that the battery won’t last you that long. This is true with all modern electronics that use batteries. In the past, your old battery could power your handset for several days but now they can barely last for a day or two, which results in more recharging cycles. A recharging cycle diminishes the life of your battery. What this means is that the lifespan of today’s batteries is twice or three times shorter. So, if 10 years ago a battery could last for 3 years, now you are only able to use it for a year or less.
The time will come when you will have to change your battery and you will have to know a couple of things. Refurbished iPhone batteries might seem like a good idea but you have to bear in mind that they have been used before and no one will really tell you how many times that battery has been recharged so this is more or less a risky business. Generally speaking, when it comes to Li-Ion batteries never go for the used ones, always buy new since they are tested and they have a guaranteed lifespan. If you are buying it new then buy one that is either better or the same quality as your old battery.
Battery replacement is one of the cheapest replacements for your iPhone. When you battery gets damaged, the only thing you need to do in order to repair your gadget is to buy a new one. But be careful not to buy a new battery when the old one might still be functioning. If your cell phone lost power it may not be the battery. Before buying a new one, always check if the battery is indeed the problem. Sometimes a connector might be damaged or some internal hardware unit. If the battery is draining fast and iPhone’s back gets hot, the problem is usually not the battery but something a bit more serious.
Once you realize the problem is caused by your faulty battery you can then proceed to replace the battery. All you need is a battery replacement kits which is composed of a new battery and a screwdriver and sometimes additional screws. Be careful not to lose the screws though, they are tiny and unique, you won’t find any replacements for the screws that easy.
If you discovered that you are not able to repair your old smartphone because the problem is not the battery, you still have another option besides throwing it to trash. It’s called cell phone recycling. Even if your phone is not functional you can still recycle it through the programs initiated by trade2save.com. You might also get some cash in return for your damaged handset. Check the website for more information.
