Samsung surprised us all with the announcement of two new smartphones.
Both phones carry the 'Galaxy Mega' moniker and are hefty phones, even
by Samsung's standards, with the Galaxy Mega 5.8 featuring a 5.8-inch
display and the Galaxy Mega 6.3 featuring (you guessed it) a 6.3-inch
display.
While Samsung was happy to talk specs, the company didn't go into
much detail on release dates except to say the phones would launch in
Europe first. Well, Samsung UK has apparently confirmed to Pocket-lint
that the Galaxy Mega 6.3 will hit the United Kingdom in mid-May.
Unfortunately, it seems the smaller of the two phones, the Galaxy Mega
5.8, won't be launching in the UK at all.
The Galaxy Mega 6.3 inch features an HD display (most likely 1280 x
720), a 1.7 GHz dual core processor, an 8-megapixel camera, LTE &
HSPA radios, GPS, GLONASS, up to 64 GB of storage via microSD, either 8
GB or 16 GB of onboard storage, and a 3,200 mAh to keep the whole thing
running.
